Update: recordBar and Days Ahead

I don't know how to begin this other than to express our wishes that you all are healthy, safe, and sound. 2020 was definitely the strangest recordBar has experienced in its 15 years.

We want to whole-heartedly thank everyone that has been supporting us the last year, either through your donations, supporting our Kickstarter campaign and fundraising efforts, attending Lemonade Park events, or watching our livestreams.

And, so, so much love to the bands that have been with us every step of the way.

Crucial Support

We're updating you now to let you know that with your help, we intend to (and will) survive this. We've been a member of the National Independent Venues Association (saveourstages.com) since it was formed last summer in an orchestrated effort to do so.

Their valiant undertaking was successful in getting the “Save Our Stages Act” passed in congress and we are currently waiting for that application process to open. If all goes as planned this crucial aid will keep us alive and we thank all our elected officials who supported this relief.

Our friends at the Missouri Entertainment Alliance are also working hard to push for aid at the state level. With the help of venues across the state and amazing fans like yourselves, they want to make some real noise over the next several days. Please join in by heading over to Missouri Entertainment Alliance and fill out the form and send a pre-drafted letter straight to the Governor.

Kickstarter Success

Regarding the Kickstarter Campaign from last fall, everything went swimmingly and we were able to raise enough money to keep our rent and basic utilities paid for almost four months. All of the rewards from the campaign have been shipped, save a few that we never received requested information for.

Please reach out to us at booking@therecordbar.com if you have not received your campaign reward. We also made some extra pieces of select items and they can be purchased at our web store here: https://shop.merchcentral.com/collections/record-bar (We’re big fans of the calendar with Todd Zimmer's photos).

One Last Thing

Before this is TLTR (probably already is), Lemonade Park will be re-launching on April, 2nd. We will be announcing some of the shows soon, so please keep an eye here www.lemonadeparkkc.com or on our newly re-designed website www.therecordbar.com

We also plan to offer some very intimate indoor concerts as soon as it gets warmer and then expanding as the vaccine becomes more prevalent. Until then, we will be offering a few livestreams from the stage. Katy Guillen & The Drive on March 27th is one you will want to buy a ticket for soon - it's going to look and sound fabulous.

Again, we love and thank you for the continued support. Stay safe and #KCPROUD!

Steve, Shawn, and the recordBar family
